Phantom Yield Loss Study: Corn Harvested at 27% Moisture Makes Most Money

Agronomist Jason Webster checks in from the Precision Planting PTI Farm in Pontiac, Ill., with results from a phantom yield loss study that compared corn hybrids harvested at 4 different moisture levels — 27%, 24%, 20% and 18%. The 24% made the most money on a per acre basis when it was taken to a commercial dryer. But the 27% was more profitable with on-farm drying rates, as Webster explains in the video below.
