[Video] Bio Strip-Till: Best of Both Worlds

“Bio strip-till” marries the benefits of cover crops with strip-till. Advocates say bio strip-till improves soil health, reduces erosion, scavenges nutrients for the next crop and speeds up residue decomposition. Joel Gruver, professor of soil science & sustainable ag at Western Illinois University, has conducted intensive research on cover crop usage in conservation tillage systems.

Gruver, a ‘Presenter of the Year’ recipient by conference attendees, focuses on the integration of cover crops within strip-tillage systems, discusses the impact of cover crops on nutrient availability, and explores key opportunities and challenges based on the real-world experiences of farmers using both strip-till and cover crops.

You’ll Learn: How to choose the right cover crops for strip-till and how to implement bio strip-till methods into your operation.
