Product Details

Strip-tillage is proving to be a significant alternative to conventional-tillage systems. Over the past 10 years, Iowa State University has documented the performance of strip-till compared to conventional tillage across various soil types, drainage classes and weather conditions at a half-dozen locations in Iowa.

Mahdi Al-Kaisi, soils management and Extension specialist at Iowa State University, will share the results of these long-term trials that demonstrate the value and competitiveness of strip-till in terms of yield, economic return and soil health benefits. Al-Kaisi will help strip-tillers understand both the challenges and successes utilizing strip-till in each of these regions that attendees will be able to apply to the production conditions similar to their farm.
