USDA's crop progress report for the week ended August 29 reported 59% of corn dented, in line with the 60% reported dented in the same week last year. The 5-year average for corn dented in this week was 55%.

USDA has reported some 91% of corn crops were in the dough stage, slightly below the 93% reported doughing in the same week last year. The 5-year average for corn doughing in the week was 89%.

Some 9% of corn crops were reported mature, below the 11% reported mature in the same week last year.

Around 48% of corn crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 14% in "excellent" condition and 24% in "fair condition."

The report stated 93% of soybeans were setting pods in the same week, below the 95% reported blooming in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans setting pods in this week was 92%.

Some 88% of soybeans were reportedly setting pods, below the 91% reported setting pods in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans setting pods in this week was 87%.

Some 9% of soybean crops were reportedly dropping leaves, above the 7% reported dropping leaves in the same week last year.

Some 53% of soybean crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 13% in "excellent" condition and 24% in "fair condition."
