Illinois state Sen. Sally Turner presented Mount Pulaski, Ill., strip-tiller Jeff Martin with an official Illinois Senate certificate for his recent induction into the Strip-Till Farmer Hall of Fame. Turner shared the following comments on her Facebook page.
Today, I had the great honor of presenting an official Illinois Senate certificate to Logan County farmer, Jeff Martin, in recognition of his induction into the Strip-Till Farmer Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The induction ceremony was held this August.
A lifelong member of the Mount Pulaski community, Jeff has been a true pioneer in conservation practices, spending decades educating others and sharing his knowledge of strip-till and no-till methods. He was also honored with the No-Till Legend Award in 2017.
Jeff’s impact goes beyond his work. He has dedicated himself to his family farm and to supporting the next generation, sharing his knowledge and encouraging those who will carry the tradition forward. His wife, children, and grandchildren have been an important part of that journey and legacy.
Congratulations, Jeff, on this well-deserved honor! Thank you for your leadership, mentorship, and commitment to the future of agriculture in Illinois.
Martin was recognized during the 2026 National Strip-Tillage Conference alongside fellow Hall of Fame class members Mark Bauer, Charlie Hammer and Nancy Kavazanjian in Springfield, Ill.
