Dragotec USA, the exclusive North American distributor of Drago corn heads, today announced the launch of the Drago GT+, a corn head engineered to help growers capture more yield, run through tougher field conditions and get more years out of every head. Manufactured by Olimac in Margarita, Italy, the GT+ replaces the field-proven Drago GT beginning with the 2027 model year. Orders open today for delivery ahead of the 2027 harvest.
“With the launch of the Drago GT+ corn head, we are raising the bar on yield capture, durability and harvest efficiency,” said Dustin Bollig, Dragotec vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s for growers who want a corn head built for today’s more intensive harvests.”
Designed for Today’s Agriculture
Corn production keeps changing, Bollig said, with higher plant populations, more trash moving through the head, faster dry-down hybrids and the occasional down-corn field all putting more demand on a corn head. As combines and heads get bigger, growers want to run faster through drier stalks and heavier trash, and the GT+ was designed around that need.
The new features of the GT+ include redesigned poly with a smoother, curved profile that slopes toward the auger for better material flow, a rear pan shape and kernel barrier that keep more grain moving to the auger, and ear sweeps that reduce material drag under the head. The cross auger is designed with deeper flighting and a reduced center-tube diameter for added capacity. Short down-corn augers are now standard equipment, helping the head bring in leaning stalks and limit hanging-ear loss.
“The new Drago GT+ offers more industry firsts and advances than any other corn head, while retaining the key features that have served GT operators so well,” Bollig said.
Those carryover and upgraded features include Drago’s Automatic Self-Adjusting Deck Plates, now faster-responding and lower-maintenance; a more-responsive QuadSuspension system to reduce butt shelling and ear bounce; the Endura Drive chainless, gear-driven system with improved driveline protection; long knife rollers; and a low head profile, at 17 to 23 degrees. The GT+ is available in rigid and folding models from 4 to 24 rows, in 20- to 40-inch spacing, with custom sizes available.
Built on More than 70 Years of Corn Head Innovation
Olimac has designed and built corn heads in Margarita, Italy, for more than 70 years. It introduced the world’s first “integral head” – able to both pick and shell corn – and hydraulic deck plates. Then, in the 1990s it introduced Automatic Self-Adjusting Deck Plates. Today, the company continues to focus on improved corn harvest at its family-owned, automated plant that spans nearly 22 acres.
“Olimac continues to set the industry standard for corn head design, development and durability that others are striving to keep up with,” Bollig said.
Dragotec backs every Drago head with a sales, service and parts network built to keep growers running during harvest. Every GT+ carries a two-year parts and labor warranty, and Dragotec guarantees growers will get the parts they need during active harvest, even covering the cost of a part and its shipping if it must come from Italy. More than 200 Drago dealer locations across the Corn Belt and beyond are trained to sell and service the GT+, supported by Dragotec USA’s North American headquarters in Fenton and by Drago Club, a free online library of service videos, operator’s manuals and clinic guides.
North American corn growers who place orders for the Drago GT+ between now and Dec. 31, 2026, will receive the best available discounts on Drago corn heads this season. Go to dragotec.com/GTplus to learn more and find your local dealer.
