2022 Natl. Strip-Tillage Conference Preview — Stacking Cover Crop Benefits for a Positive Financial Return
Cover crops have many demonstrated conservation and soil health benefits, yet their use is still limited by perceived financial fears: crop yield reduction or no short-term return. Farmer and independent research agronomist Jim Stute previews his classroom session for the 2022 National Strip-Tillage Conference, in which he will provide a data-driven look at cover crop effects, including crop yield response, weed suppression and nutrient scavenging.
