Good morning from the road! We’re Iowa-City bound for the 2025 National Strip-Tillage Conference. I’m so amped up for the event that I just had to blog about it (don’t worry, safely from the passenger seat).
Over the last few months, I’ve done several interviews, webinars and videos to preview the conference. I’ve been asked a few times, “Is this for beginners or experienced strip-tillers?”
My answer is — it’s for both. The conference is also for people who aren’t strip-tilling yet but are thinking about adding it to their conservation arsenal. And it’s for educators, researchers, crop advisors, dealers and manufacturers interested in learning more about the increasingly popular practice.
There will be 6 general sessions, 16 classrooms and 14 interactive roundtable discussions on everything from equipment setup tips to cover crops, biologicals, nutrient management strategies and more.
Consider this the Super Bowl of strip-till. Don’t take my word for it though, just ask some of the past attendees.
“I’ve attended several Strip-Till Conferences, each have provided invaluable insights that I can take back to my operation,” says Tryston Beyre from Colfax, Wis.
“As a newcomer to strip-till, I find the Strip-Till Conference valuable for advice and networking,” says Lulu Bradley from Queensland, Australia. “Probably saved me from many future, costly mistakes.”
“I don’t know how many new cards I’ve got in my pocket from guys that I’ve interacted with today and that I know I’ll keep in touch with,” says Mike Shuter from Frankton, Ind.
“We go to plenty of conferences, but none equal this one when it comes to picking up money-making ideas,” says Donald Ballagh from North Rose, N.Y.
“I saw a lot of innovative people generous with the information they had to share,” says Robert Paarlberg from Wellesley Hills, Mass.
“Of all the farm events I go to, I get the most bang for my buck coming to the National Strip-Tillage Conference,” says Robert Boyle from Coolidge, Ariz.
We’re about to pull over at the World’s Largest Truck Stop on Interstate 80, so it’s time for me to log off. The conference kicks off Thursday, July 31 at the conveniently located Hyatt Regency Hotel and Conference Center in Coralville, Iowa. There’s still time to sign up at StripTillConference.com. Thanks for reading, as always, and I hope to see you Thursday!
