Illinois Strip-Tiller Dials in “Non-Traditional” Fertility Program
Groveland, Ill., strip-tiller Brad Zimmerman is always thinking outside the box, especially when it comes to nutrient management. “What we’ve been doing the last five years is basically a non-traditional fertility program,” he tells AgriNews. “We use ocean minerals, dry humates, liquid fulvics, humics, sugars, aloe, kelp and a lot of these things that aren’t traditionally sold by fertilizer purveyors, but they’re very useful in terms of a bio stimulant or feeding the crop or getting nutrients into the crop.”

The strip freshener has become a popular tool in the toolbox of many strip-tillers recently.
