As someone who grew up in what I would call a very "music-forward family," I am constantly listening to music and sharing it with friends and family. I am also a big fan of making themed playlists. My dad and I used to burn CDs for long roadtrips together and we'd take turns guessing what the theme was for the CD the other person had made.
Some of the these were pretty straightforward and easy to guess. Songs with a girl's name in the title, songs about driving, songs about heartbreak, etc. Occasionally we'd get a bit more creative with a theme such as songs by artists who are from Chicago. Regardless, I have a lot of practice putting together playlists and so today, I have a straightforward themed playlists for all of you farmers out there.
Hop in the cab, hit shuffle and enjoy these songs that all have something to do with farming. Some of them are directly farming related like Luke Bryan's "Rain Is a Good Thing." Other's might be more subtle like Jason Isbell's song "Grown," which isn't necessarily about agriculture but the title involves things (or people) that grow.
And I'm sorry in advance to all the no-tillers out there for Jason Aldean's "Amarillo Sky." You'll have to plug your ears when he sings the lyrics "He takes the tractor another round and pulls the plow across the ground."
Lastly, I encourage any and all feedback on this playlist. I'd love to hear your suggestions for other songs that fit the theme that I may have forgotten about or may have never heard at all. So if you have any ideas or comments, reach out to me at mvogel@lessitermedia.com.
