Bayer, which acquired Monsanto several years ago, said lawyers are still analyzing the ruling but added the decision is, “good for science, farmers, and industries that depend on regulatory clarity for innovation,” in a statement posted to the company’s website.
SCOTUS considered Bayer’s petition for writ of certiorari earlier this year but asked Solicitor General D. John Sauer for additional input on the case, Monsanto Co. vs. John L. Durnell.

Two agreements related to Deere’s purchase of Precision Planting will also be terminated, including the digital collaboration agreement between Deere and The Climate Corp., a division of Monsanto. Also ending is an agreement that would have allowed Ag Leader to expand access to and distribution of certain Precision Planting products and technologies.
