100 pounds of MAP and 150 pounds of potash banded in a strip resulted in a $30.80 return on investment according to a 2023 Beck's Practical Farm Research (PFR) soybean tillage — broadcast vs. banded study.
"The data shows an advantage to strip-till vs. the control of conventional-till in the fertility treatments. When the fertilizer was removed from the strip-till pass, yield did suffer compared to the treatments with fertilizer added."
Soybeans were planted April 18, 2023, in 30-inch rows at a rate of 130,000 seeds per acre on a field that was planted to corn the previous year. Check out the results below.
