David Legvold, a Strip-Till Innovator and Hall of Famer, has farmed in Northfield, Minn., in the southern part of the state for 40 years. His journey from conventional tillage to strip-till has been a process of experimentation, building confidence in a system and using on-farm research to drive decision making. He is a recipient of the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Award and the National Fertilizer Institute named me as one of five 4R Advocates in the U.S. for using fertilizer based on sound environmental and economic practices. Legvold also has a research partnership with St. Olaf’s College.
