Nancy Labbe, co-director of The Nature Conservancy's North America Regenerative Grazing Lands strategy, was named the new chair of the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef

As a founding member of Roundtable, TNC is, “excited to see Nancy take on this role, further advancing our commitment to work collaboratively with ranchers and the beef supply chain.”

Labbe leads The Nature Conservancy’s North America Regenerative Grazing Lands strategy, a key component of the organization’s North America Regenerative Agriculture program. In this role, she leads an interdisciplinary team of science, conservation, and policy experts dedicated to working with ranchers to restore and protect 240 million acres of intact grazing lands by 2030.

Nancy first joined TNC in 2020 as director of the Northern Great Plains Rangelands program, and before that she spent 8 years at World Wildlife Fund. Throughout her career, she has numerous positions throughout the beef and bison supply chains.

TNC said the chairwoman position with USRSB serves Nancy well as she supports grazing land coalitions, rancher-led collaborations, and some of the world’s largest purchasers of beef as they work to improve the sustainability and environmental footprint of beef production in North America.

Nancy was born and raised on a family ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska, owned by her family for 115 years and spanning 5 generations. Nancy gained hands-on experience in managing cow-calf operations and developed a deep understanding of what it means to be a rancher and the issues they face every day.

Nancy holds a BSBA degree from Regis University with an emphasis in international business.
