Strip till has been able to save some of the crops that only saw a few inches of rain during May or June this year, Iowa State agronomist Angie Rieck-Hinz said.
“The nitrogen penalty from burying all those corn stalks was like, 50 bushels per acre,” Warren Schneckenburger says. He has since switched to strip-till, allowing the farm to overcome the previous bottleneck.
